My 25 year old Craftsman 2 stroke blower. Just knocked down 45 minutes of 9 - 14" snow. Kind of uncanny how you can blow snow with only the discharge sticking through the drift. Always starts, it’s a screaming 2 stroke. If you see one in a garage sale, buy it.

Meanwhile I'm currently shoveling for the fourth time in 9 days. It hasn't stopped snowing for the last 23 hours

Dude, shoveling is lame. If people slip, that’s between them and your insurance company.

City ordinance states I’m r esponsible for clearing all pedestrian paths/sidewalks adjacent to my property. Oh well.
Plus it's just polite.

I have a shared driveway. The house I share it with is a rental and the landlord just hires a company to plow it out.
The only time I have to shovel is when I have to get out of my driveway and the plow truck
hasn’t come by yet

Last year I gave up on my 10 YO honda blower and got this 2-stage troy built. It is 28" wide and has a headlight, 6 forward speeds, 2 reverse speeds and HEATED FUCKING GRIPS. I can do my 200-foot long driveway in about 15 minutes, that’s three up and backs with the last up and back being a clean up run. The parking area is pretty big but it takes about 10 minutes. I love this thing.

My street doesn’t have sidewalks so it gives me a little flexibility.

Sweet, gotta love having the right tool for the job.
When we lived in Prince George we would see snow over the top of the snowblower a few time a year. We were on a pull through lot with a huge driveway. Once it was dialed in that think just ate snow like crazy..
It also liked to eat extension cords an shear pins like no ones busi
ness
- my bad..

I have yet to break a shear pin. I am pretty on-it I seldom move more than 6" of snow. If it was 12" and wet I could just put it in low gear and go slower.

I only broke them when I hit extension cords.. We had four plugged in cars in the driveway and once in awhile a cord would get buried and not pulled up.
Also use the stick- keep your fingers ;

Damn. That one definitely is the Binford 6100 of snowblowers.

I have a Craftsman too, but I joke all the time that it’s a Fisher-Price snowblower.
(I didn’t take the pic sideways, I swear. Fsck you Kinja.)
To be fair, though, it has done really well for me, knock on wood . My brother-in-law gave it to me several years ago when he realized it was nowhere n ear what he needed for his couple-hundred-feet-long-and-very- steep driveway. My driveway is 2 cars wide and mayb e 4 cars long and flat. Sure I’d love to have a big self-propelled 2-stage monster, but for now this is getting the job done. Tim Taylor would not approve.

I feel the same about my 10 year old Toro 2 stroke. So simple to run, had to replace the carb last year from ethanol issues, but runs great again and fires right up every time. I’ve replaced 4 or 5 sets of paddles on it too, always fun to use with fresh paddles.

Those work fine till the paddles wear out. I think they are riveted on too, so I don’t know if you’ll be able to replace them easily. My mom has one of those.

yeah I have been thinking it ain’t gonna last forever, and it certainly doesn’t owe me anything at this point .

That is an odd son of a gun having a lawnmower engine on a snow blower....
